Marketing assignment



Starbucks is a very well known company around the United States and a few other countries, being Canada and Japan. The products that Starbucks sell is coffee, pastries, and fun coffee cups. Starbucks value proposition is, to enhance the customers experience while enjoying a cup of coffee. Starbucks tries to make their environment a calm, relaxing setting where people can just let loose and savor their cup of coffee while maybe connecting with friends and family.

On Starbucks’ Facebook page, the most common things said is how they love the coffee and the employees that work there. Some examples that I have found from their Facebook page is customers saying, “ I’m a long time Starbucks fan” and “I love Starbucks because not only is their coffee good, but they also help out the communities, Thank you Starbucks!”. Of course not every customer has a good experience or a good drink so when they share that on Starbucks’ Facebook page, Starbucks is very responsive and apologetic and makes sure to have a solution to satisfy the customer. For example, a customer had a dissatisfying drink and commented on Starbucks’ Facebook page, and the first person to respond was Starbucks apologizing, taking accountability, and asking to have a further private conversation through messenger to get more details and offer a solution.

The aspects of marketing that Starbucks uses is the radio and mainly social media. Starbucks marketing campaign is currently the Pumpkin Spice Latte which is a big hit and has a lot of good reviews. The Pumpkin Spice Latte, has a limited time on the menu each year during the fall months which is partly why it is such a huge hit to the customers.

If I were the brand manager of Starbucks, I would respond to my customers in a way of making sure my responses sounded genuine, personal, and respecting the customers comments. If there was a dissatisfied customer who shared their experience on social media, I’d be sure to recognize the comment, take accountability, and come up with a solution to make sure the customer was taken care of.

What I learned through this assignment was to be engaged in what your customers are engaged in for example, social media. Social media is how everyone spends their free time, whether they're on break from work or just relaxing at the end of the day, it is important to keep up with technology because that is how you’ll be able to get a farther reach on more potential and current customers.

Comments
